Kids' and toddler sizes are listed too, and they are often where the steeper markdowns show up.
Check who is selling before you buy. Listings shipped and sold by Amazon or by The North Face's own storefront are the safe choice; third-party sellers can be fine, but read the seller rating and the return terms. Fit runs fairly true on most jackets, while the Nuptse is cut boxy and short on purpose. Size down only if you want a closer fit and won't layer a heavy fleece underneath.
Prices on outerwear follow the weather. The deepest cuts tend to come late in the winter season and again in spring, when retailers clear insulated stock, while backpacks and rain shells are often marked down around back-to-school, Prime Day in July and the October Prime event.
