LEGO deals

The LEGO range on Amazon US is deep: Star Wars ships and helmets, Technic cars and machines, City police, fire and train sets, Friends for younger builders, Icons display models, fan-designed Ideas sets, and the Botanicals flowers and plants that have become a gift staple. Which themes are discounted at any moment keeps changing.

The key thing about LEGO prices is retirement. Every set has a production run, and the deepest cuts often come near its end, when retailers clear stock. Once a set retires and disappears from general retail, prices usually go up rather than down, so a discount on an older Star Wars or Icons set may be the last chance at a fair price. Buy from Amazon or established sellers, check that the box is new and sealed, and compare the set number, since LEGO reuses names across versions.

In the US, LEGO prices tend to fall around Prime Day in July and Amazon's October event, then Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when large licensed sets often reach their lowest point of the year. After the holidays, seasonal and holiday-themed sets get cleared.

What usually gets reduced in a LEGO sale: sets heading for retirement, older versions of refreshed City and Friends lines, and mid-sized Technic and Star Wars sets. Brand-new releases and the most wanted large Icons sets rarely drop in their first months.

The discount shown here is not our own math: it is the difference between today's price and the list price the retailer itself displays. If there is no list price, we show no percentage – better no discount than an invented one. The page updates automatically; prices are rechecked regularly, and anything that is no longer reduced disappears instead of lingering as an expired deal.
