Rip Curl deals

Rip Curl is a surf brand first, and the range reflects it: wetsuits across the Dawn Patrol, E-Bomb and Flashbomb families, Mirage and Owen boardshorts, bikinis and one-pieces, rash vests and surf tees, hoodies and walk shorts, plus backpacks, wallets, caps and the Search GPS surf watches. Which parts of that are marked down changes constantly, so this page only reflects the current state.

The thing worth knowing is wetsuit thickness, because buying the wrong one is an expensive mistake. Across most of the New South Wales and Queensland coast a 3/2mm steamer handles the bulk of the year, with a 2mm spring suit for high summer. Victoria, Tasmania and the southern coasts need a 4/3 through winter and many people run a hooded suit. The second point is that wetsuit technology changes slowly, so last season's model of the same line is usually the smart buy — the seams, lining and neoprene are largely unchanged and the price is not.

The Australian rhythm is seasonal in the clearest possible way. Boardshorts, bikinis and summer apparel are cleared out through the Boxing Day and January clearance and into autumn. Wetsuits go the other way: they are in demand through winter from June to August, and the deepest cuts land as spring arrives and the new season's suits are announced. End of Financial Year sales in June are also a reliable moment for apparel.

Rip Curl runs outlet stores in Australia and an online clearance section. What typically gets reduced is previous-season wetsuit models once the new range lands, boardshort prints from a past drop, and the sizes left at the ends of a run.

The discount shown here is not our own math: it is the difference between today's price and the list price the retailer itself displays. If there is no list price, we show no percentage – better no discount than an invented one. The page updates automatically; prices are rechecked regularly, and anything that is no longer reduced disappears instead of lingering as an expired deal.

Salewunder is funded by affiliate links: if you buy through a link here, we earn a commission. It does not change your price, and what gets listed is decided by the discount, not the commission.
